Kelsey Greene
 

Kelsey started dancing when she was 2 years old at a competitive dance studio in West Warwick, RI. She began competing at 7 years old in National and International dance competitions, including Germany in 2003.  She won the national title, “Jr Miss Dance Ovations” in 2006. She also won 1st place in the New England Performs competition in 2007. Kelsey began her classical ballet training at Heritage Ballet in 2005. Some of her major appearances on the stage of the Stadium Theater during her career with Heritage Ballet include: Clara, Mouse Queen, Snow Queen, Spanish, Arabian, Murlitons, Dew Drop, and Sugar Plum in the Nutcracker. Also, Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty; Summer Fairy, Autumn Fairy, and Winter Fairy in Cinderella; and Black Swan in Swan Lake. Kelsey was also accepted into many summer intensive programs at respected ballet companies across the country. Of these, she attended Boston Ballet in 2010, Houston Ballet in 2011, and Texas Ballet Theatre in 2012. Kelsey also competed in The Youth America Grand Prix, a prestigious international ballet competition. She placed in the Top 12 in 2011 and 2012, and competed at the NYC Finals in 2011. Kelsey danced as an apprentice with “The Patrick Notaro Dance Project” in the summer of 2011. She also danced as a Trainee with The Washington Ballet during their 2012-2013 season. She performed in 45 Company Shows at the Kennedy Center, Warner Theatre, etc. These performances included: Dracula, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes, and the world premier Hemingway: The Sun also Rises. After that, Kelsey returned to Heritage for one more year of concentrated ballet training before retiring to teach part time and focus more on her college education and career. She is currently studying General Business Management at the University of Rhode Island and working full time as a systems support agent at IGT in Providence. Kelsey has been teaching at Heritage since 2013.
